How do I know when my child is too sick to come to class? Under no circumstances will any family member be allowed at Musikids if they are unwell. You will be asked to return home.
Ask yourself this important question: “if your child is healthy, would you want him/her playing with another child that has your child’s symptoms?” If the answer is no, please do not bring your child to class. You are more than welcome to attend another day for a makeup class.
Please be considerate of other children when deciding whether or not your child is healthy enough to attend class. Follow these guidelines and if you or your child has any of symptoms below, do not attend class.
Fever within the last 24 hours; runny nose with yellow or green mucus; diarrhoea; vomiting; sore throat or difficulty swallowing; lice; rash or spots on skin, ringworm infection; severe itching; mouth sores; eye discharge; significant tiredness, irritability, uncontrolled crying; uncontrolled coughing; difficulty breathing, wheezing.
At what age should I start my child? We specialise in the young child: babies to 7 or 8 years. As soon as you are ready to attend a class from 3 months, we can accommodate you.
Which class is just right for us? Each class has an age recommendation. These are a guide for you and are designed this way to ensure that children are grouped in a developmentally appropriate program. Your child needs to be at least the minimum age for the chosen class by the start of a term and or semester. Please read the class information on the website to assist you or please speak to Kathryn.
Can we join a class at anytime during the term/semester?
With the exception of Musikeys classes, yes you can! Subject to availability in the class. Fees will be calculated on a pro-rata basis.
It may not be advisable at the time to enrol in a Musikeys class, as the children in these classes are very settled after the first term. Mostly it is best to wait until the beginning of the next year, however please do not hesitate to ask if there is a possibly of joining one of these fantastic classes.
How do I Enrol?
- Complete the Online Enrolment Form. You will be contacted via email & SMS (or phone) to confirm availability in your preferred class.
- An invoice will be emailed to you for payment to be made. Payment details can be found at the bottom of the invoice.
- For first time Musifamilies, a $100 deposit is required to hold your place in a class. The balance is due prior to, or at the first class. The deposit is to be paid once your enrolment has been confirmed.
- Welcome to Musikids! See you in class!
If I need to cancel our enrolment, can I get the deposit back? If you have not attended a class you will receive your deposit less a $30 cancellation fee. If you have attended class and have taken your materials home we do not refund the deposit. The materials are yours to keep.
In extreme circumstances, the term fee less $10 per class not attended can be refunded.
Refund requests are considered on an individual basis.
What happens if we miss a class? Please notify us that you will not be attending class via Email or SMS. You are encouraged to attend a makeup lesson in a class that is not filled to capacity. This makeup lesson must be organised prior to you attending and within the term that you missed the class. You have up to 2 makeup classes at your disposal.
If classes are missed were due to serious illness (hospitalisation) and/or leaving the area suddenly, $10 can be credited for those classes unattended only when advance notice is given. i.e. one week notice prior to/or after incident.
Makeup classes are honoured if you are currently enrolled.
When do we arrive for class? Please arrive 5 minutes prior to class commencing so that we begin on time.
If my child takes the class without me, do I stay nearby? If your child is enrolled in a Musikids or Musikeys class, it is advised that you stay on or nearby the premises. You could use this time to rest! It is important that you are there for the last 10 – 15minutes of these classes for Sharing/Family Time.
Can we take photos or video my child in class? Not without prior permission from all participants in the class.
Infrequently, Musikids take photographs of the class action to capture moments. At the end of the year, class photographs are taken. This photograph of the class is mailed to all children in that class as a memento of their time at Musikids.
What do we need to bring to class? Please dress comfortably & be prepared to take shoes off for class. If your child is enrolled in a Musiglocks or Musikeys class each child will be required to bring their bag, materials and any homework completed.
Please do not bring toys and snacks to class as they can be a distraction to class routine. Food and drinks are not to be brought onto the premises (with the exception of breastfeeding or a water bottle).
Parents enrolled in the Musibubs or baby class are advised to bring a blanket for their lap babies.
Should we bring food & a drink to class just in case we get hungry?
Under NO circumstances is food to be consumed in the Musikids foyer or classroom. (With the exception of breastfeeding or water bottles).
Can I bring other family members or friends to watch us in class? As these classes are stage appropriate, only the enrolled child and parent/caregiver are to attend. All children enrolled in their specific classes depend on continuity for the class to feel safe & secure. A continual upset to routine may disrupt the progress of the enrolled child.
If you would like another family member or friend to attend class, please call prior to your class to discuss. We encourage family participation; however, we need to maintain the best learning environment for our enrolled students, and sometimes-extra friends or family members in the class can be a distraction.
